Boots Payslips Explained
Whether you are a retail dispenser or a qualified pharmacist, learn how to navigate the Zellis portal and claim powerful tax reliefs on your professional fees.
The Boots Zellis Portal (MyView)
Boots operates a paperless payroll system. You will not receive a physical payslip; instead, you must log into the Zellis PeopleAdmin (MyView) portal.
Login Issues: The most common issue staff face is entering an incorrect Employee ID. The portal requires an 8-digit employee number. If the number on your store pass is only 6 or 7 digits long, you must pad the beginning of the number with zeros (e.g., 00123456).
If you are a new starter, your employee number is generated at the same time as your first payslip. If you cannot access the system, check the internal Boots Live / InSight intranet for support.
2026 Pharmacist Pay Rates
Following negotiations with the Pharmacists' Defence Association (PDA) union, Boots pharmacists received a 4% pay uplift. As of 2026, the minimum full-time equivalent (FTE) salaries are:
- Independent Prescribing Pharmacists: £46,240 minimum
- One-Year Qualified Pharmacists: £43,520 minimum
Additionally, pharmacists acting as Designated Prescribing Practitioners (DPPs) receive a £300 one-off bonus per learner.
The GPhC Tax Hack (Boost your Net Pay)
If you are a Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician, you must pay an annual retention fee to the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) to practice. This fee is tax-deductible!
If you pay the fee yourself (and Boots does not reimburse you), you must claim this expense through HMRC. HMRC will increase your personal tax allowance (changing your tax code from the standard 1257L), meaning you will pay less tax each month and keep more of your salary.
Uniform Tax Rebates for Dispensers
Retail staff and dispensers who wear a Boots-branded uniform are also entitled to tax relief if they wash the uniform themselves at home. You can claim a Flat Rate Expense allowance which yields a small tax rebate each year. Use our Uniform Tax Rebate Calculator to see how much you could save.
