The 2026 Marks & Spencer Pay Rise
In April 2026, Marks & Spencer implemented a significant 6.4% pay increase for its UK retail workforce. This move was designed to keep M&S competitive in the high street retail sector and ensure staff are paid above the statutory National Living Wage.

How to Access Your M&S Payslip
M&S operates a paperless payroll system. You will not receive a physical payslip in the post. Instead, you must access your documents via the company's internal portals:
- MyHR / M&S People System: This is the primary portal where you can view your weekly or monthly payslips, check your tax code, and see your National Insurance contributions. You must use your official M&S Single Sign-On (SSO) credentials to log in.
- My Choices (my-choices.co.uk): While not specifically for payslips, this is the portal you use to manage your colleague benefits, staff discounts, and recognition rewards.
Important Security Notice
Always ensure you are logging into the official M&S domains (typically ending in marksandspencer.com). Never share your employee ID or password on external forums or social media. If you are locked out of MyHR, speak directly to your line manager.
Tax Hacks for M&S Staff
If you work on the shop floor or in the food hall and are required to wear a branded M&S uniform, you can claim tax relief if you wash the uniform yourself at home.
HMRC offers a Flat Rate Expense allowance for retail workers. Claiming this will slightly adjust your tax code (e.g., changing from 1257L to 1263L), resulting in a small tax rebate and slightly higher take-home pay every month. Check our Uniform Tax Rebate Calculator to see how much you could claim.
