Deep Dive: The Nuances of Costa UK Payroll
Equity vs Franchise Stores
The most important thing to know about your Costa payslip is whether you work for an Equity store (owned directly by Costa/Coca-Cola) or a Franchise store (owned by an independent business partner). While the uniforms and the coffee are the same, the HR and payroll systems are entirely different. Franchisees operate their own independent payroll departments.
Which login portal do I use?
Because of the franchise model, there is no single "Costa Employee Portal." Depending on your store owner, you might be asked to log in to Access People HR, Dayforce, or Paycircle. If you are having trouble logging in or finding your payslip, the Costa corporate helpline will not be able to assist you if you work for a franchise. You must speak to your store manager.
Payday Variations
Equity stores generally pay their staff monthly, often on the last Friday of the month. However, franchisees have the flexibility to set their own pay cycles. Some may pay every four weeks, while others might pay fortnightly. Check your specific employment contract for your exact pay dates.
